Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream

I received a teeny-tiny jar of Benefit’s It’s Potent eye cream by Benefit in a beauty box. I was looking forward to trying a Benefit skincare product, mainly because I like the gorgeous green glass packaging.

It’s Potent is a brightening eye cream which claims to fade dark circles. Unfortunately I was unable to put this to the test. It’s Potent is indeed very potent. When I put eye cream on I tend to get it on my eyelashes. When this got on to my eyelashes and I blinked, it burned my eyes! This happened twice so I decided to stop using it.

I decided that Benefit’s It’s Potent is for people who are very careful when applying eye cream and who really need to banish dark circles. For now, I’ll make do with a milder eye cream in not-so-pretty packaging and some concealer!

Vichy Idéalia Life Serum

Vichy Idéalia Life Serum. That’s a grand name!

I don’t really use serums but I did try this one with the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream. It claims to instantly give a radiant and fresh complexion with a more even tone.

I have to say, my skin did have a glow to it after using it – it freshened my complexion as promised and it also meant I didn’t have to use a double layer of Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream. It has a hint of a herby scent which always makes me feel like a product is good for my skin. I have tried much more expensive serums which really didn’t make any difference at all or even made my skin feel worse.

I’m glad I got to try this serum. If I ever felt the need to give my skin a boost with some serum, I’d probably pick this one.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream is a gel-crème moisturiser. It is light and refreshing and perfectly blends into my dry skin. It has the tiniest hint of fragrance and although I don’t like fragranced face products, there is something special about this fragrance.

Unfortunately this formula does not provide enough moisturisation for my dry skin which is a shame because I like using it. I have to use two layers of the cream, or layer it with the serum and most mornings I just don’t have the time. Perhaps I need to go for the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream. That’s going on the wishlist now!

Vichy Pureté Thermale 3 in 1

Vichy Pureté Thermale 3 in 1

The Vichy Pureté 3 in 1 is a cleansing milk, toner and eye make-up remover for sensitive skin. I have dry skin rather than sensitive skin but as I received this in a beauty box, I decided to try it as I really wanted to try some Vichy products.

It has a barely there fragrance – just enough for you sense that there is something there.  I usually don’t like fragranced products on my face but this one is just right.

I like cleansing milks and this is great because it has the fluidity of cleansing milk but it is a little thicker than a cleansing milk without being as thick as a cleansing cream.

As for performance, for some reason it takes me ages to get makeup off using a cream cleanser. This is whether I apply the cleanser to the face and wipe off with cotton wool pads, or apply the cleanser to the cotton wool pad and wipe it all on my face in a circular motion. I get through so many cotton wool pads! The Vichy Pureté Thermale is the same – it goes on nice and smoothly, and comes off the same but the process is not particularly quick.  I end up rubbing my cheeks a little too hard leaving them feeling tight! It make a valiant effort to remove eye make-up but that takes some rubbing too.

The plus side is that my skin is left feeling baby-soft and smooth once I eventually get all of my make-up off.

As far as cleanser performance is concerned, it’s ok.  It is good for travel because there is no need for a separate toner or eye-makeup remover although I would personally try to pack a separate (probably dual-phase) eye make-up remover to get all of the eye make-up off.  Despite that, I would probably buy some more of this cleanser because I love how it makes my skin feel, the price is nice (around £11) and I really like the hint of fragrance.
