2014 – The Year For Skin

Some days I’m not happy with my skin.  I think I have become complacent, as I don’t have any major skin issues.   My skin is dry (and I have recently developed an oily nose!) and my face is several shades of brown but that’s about it.

Skin does need a lot of care.  My grandmother swore by moisturising everyday as does my mother, resulting in amazingly soft skin.  Whilst I think my grandmother used premium products, my mum doesn’t necessarily so that goes to show it’s not all about cost, although I accept more expensive products can have better ingredients following more intense research.

This year, I will try new products and actually use them up! I’ll also try to do things like eat well, drink more water and attempt to get more natural vitamin D (which is difficult to do in the UK!).  I should also try to get more sleep but that will be a tough one.  This is the year I want to look younger than I am, without make-up.

Wish me luck!

About Skin by Tasha’s Face

A few skincare bits and bobs

A few skincare bits and bobs

I started out with Tasha’s Face – a site dedicated to make-up. I wanted it to inspire and it is based on looks I have tried out, and also has a few comments here and there!

Skincare goes hand-in-hand with make-up but I personally don’t find it visually inspiring. I didn’t want to put boring pictures of jars of cream on a site that’s meant to be fun.

My objective here is to share my thoughts and comments on skincare I have used. I have used premium skincare and loved it but then I thought to myself, do I really have to spend so much money? Someone with unfathomably soft skin told me it is important to moisturise everyday. They did not say I had to spend a fortune doing it. My hair on the other hand, now that’s another story!

The challenge is this: to see if I can find great skin products at less than premium prices.

Join me and see if I succeed!

About Me

No make-up, just moisturiser

No make-up, just moisturiser

Medium brown/golden caramel/dark olive skin. Milk chocolate freckles. Onyx eyelashes and eyebrows. Brown-black hair. Pink lips defined by a mauve outline. Occasionally rosy cheeks!

My contrasting features are definitely a blessing when it comes to going without make-up. Great for beach holidays but for every day and going out, I like to even out the tones, emphasise my features and have fun – sometimes all at the same time!

My main site, Tasha’s Face, is all about make-up. Skincare goes hand-in-hand with make-up so I set up this blog. I hope you find this helpful!
