Benefit Makeup Lesson Skincare Samples

After my highly enjoyable Benefit makeover, I received some skincare samples to try at home.

It’s Potent! eye cream

Yes, I know I have tried this and managed to burn my eyes with it but I have been instructed on the proper way to use it so I will give it another try.  I am only supposed to use it under my eyes and not too close to my eyes. It should not go on my eyelids. With those instructions, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a good result.

The POREfessional primer

I was really impressed with this at the makeup lesson so now I can try it at home with my other foundations.

Puff Off!

This is an eye gel  The full-sized product has an iron-shaped applicator which cools the eye area as the product is deposited. Unfortunately the sample does not have this but I can still try the formula and just imagine that the iron is there.

Total Moisture Facial Cream

At my makeup lesson Georgia used the triple performing facial emulsion which is oil-free. Even though it was oil free, my face felt adequately moisturised. I can now compare it with the Total Moisture Facial Cream to see if I really need a heavier cream.

I will let you know what I think of all of these.

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream

I received a teeny-tiny jar of Benefit’s It’s Potent eye cream by Benefit in a beauty box. I was looking forward to trying a Benefit skincare product, mainly because I like the gorgeous green glass packaging.

It’s Potent is a brightening eye cream which claims to fade dark circles. Unfortunately I was unable to put this to the test. It’s Potent is indeed very potent. When I put eye cream on I tend to get it on my eyelashes. When this got on to my eyelashes and I blinked, it burned my eyes! This happened twice so I decided to stop using it.

I decided that Benefit’s It’s Potent is for people who are very careful when applying eye cream and who really need to banish dark circles. For now, I’ll make do with a milder eye cream in not-so-pretty packaging and some concealer!

Review: No7 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen

No7 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen

No7 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen

Usually, after swimming in the sea with the hot sun bearing down, my eye area gets very irritated and sore. This time around, there was so such irritation and soreness.

I think eye protection is essential as the skin around the eyes is so delicate but I found it very difficult to find an eye protection product with a sufficiently high SPF. Most eye creams have an SPF15 (if it has a SPF at all) which is completely inadequate outside of the UK, or even on very sunny days here. This No7 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen is the only reasonably priced protection with a SPF of 30 that I could find.

The Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen has a subtle golden shimmer which had a brightening effect on my eyes. I seldom wear make-up on holiday so this was a great bonus – it doesn’t feel like make-up but still looks pretty! I used it all over my eyelids and under my eyes.

Although this can be used for the lips, I had already purchased the Soltan Moisturising Suncare Stick so I didn’t try it on my lips.

The No7 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screen will now take a place in my hand luggage as a holiday essential!

Review: No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream

No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream

No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream

I think I bought this No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream as part of a skincare gift set. I have heard good things about the Protect & Perfect range so I had high hopes for this cream. Unfortunately there were no miracles.

To me, it is a basic, and therefore overpriced cream. I don’t think it has any SPF and I really doesn’t do anything for me except keep my eye area moisturised. Maybe there is some protection going on that I don’t know about but without an SPF, it certainly is not protecting me from the sun!

I much prefer the cheaper Boots brand Vitamin E eye cream which I reviewed a while ago. That cream moisturises, protects with SPF and illuminates. I will not repurchase this No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream.

Review: No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm

No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm

No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm

I received this No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm as part of a gift set for Christmas. It claims to visibly improve dark circles and puffiness. I’m not sure about that but I like it anyway!

It is a transparent balm which soothes and moisturises the eyes overnight. I wake up with my eyes feeling refreshed which is much more pleasant than my eyes feeling dry!
Recently I have been wearing this over my Green People Age Defy Line Eraser Lip & Eye serum and they seem to work well together to keep my eye area hydrated. This is one of the few No7 products I am likely to repurchase, and want to repurchase!
